Just a little note to provide an update for sweet Sophie. She is doing very well! She’s already let Renee know that she is feeling super and ready to play again. Renee kindly explained that she had to stay still a while longer, and Sophie just smiled and said that foster mommy was mistaken…she’s really fine and ready to PLAY!! She was disappointed when Renee stuck to her guns, but finally did accept her fate.
Renee says she looks fabulous and is in great spririts. She has another check up on Thursday of next week, so we’ll see what the doc says about her progress.
We are very excited that things have gone so well for Sophie. She certainly deserves it! Isn’t it amazing how animals can go through a gun shot wound, a major facial surgery (both cosmetically AND orthopedically) and still come out dancing in a day or two? They just smile and say “I had reconstructive facial surgery the other day, and they used part of my lip for my new mouth…isn’t that cool??” I’ve said it before and I’ll say it many, many more times…I wish I had their strength, determination and outstanding attitude.
We’ll continue to keep you posted on how things go. If they continue to move forward as positively as they have thus far, she’ll be ready for adoption in about 7 weeks! It will require a special home for Miss Sophie, but we know that her special family will feel she’s EXTRA special and love her forever. 🙂
Thank you again to everyone who helped make this happen!!
