Sunday I had the joy of a lovely visit with Maleah, the amazing girl who came into our rescue in horrendous shape, and left a gorgeous Pyrenees.  Her adoptive family was in the area, and they were kind enough to set up a meeting with me so that I could see Maleah and spend a little bit of time with her.  It was so much fun!

For those that are not familiar with Maleah, she came into rescue last year looking like most have never imagined a dog could look.  No hair, half her weight, skin in pitiful shape, almost every problem in the book, fever, etc.  She progressed in leaps and bounds, and had a will of steel.  Her determination to live was astounding, as she never, ever gave up.  Now she is a stunning Great Pyrenees with a tremdous personality, full of vim, vigor and fun.  If you’ve never heard her story, visit her website:

So, Sunday and our meeting was quite a delight, and Maleah was gorgeous.  Her adoptive family has done wonders with her, and her coat is full, bright, beautiful and she is simply an incredible site.  She walked around proud of herself, which is well deserved.  I wish I had even an ounce of her strength.  If so, I could conquer anything without worry.  She is a legend, an inspiration, and a diva, all wrapped into one…and a mama, daddy and daughter’s girl.  I am so grateful for their love and devotion to Maleah.  I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect adoptive family for her.  I am also grateful for their thoughtfulness and willingness to get together with me.  It made my month!

If you’re ever feeling defeated and depressed, think of Maleah.  Saying her name alone will provide you with the strength to take a step forward and lift your spirits, allowing you to remember that nothing is impossible, and all stories CAN have a happy ending with a little determination.
